The first Continental Congress met in Carpenter's Hall, which is located in Philadelphia. There were 56 delegates who represented each colony, except for Georgia. Some delegates include Patrick Henry, George Washington, Sam Adams and John Hancock. On October 14, the Declaration and Resolves was established. This went against everything negative that Britain had to say about self ruling governments. Colonists believed in rights of "life, liberty and property." |
